"Why Grant Ellis and His Fiancée Are Taking Their Time Before Tying the Knot and How They're Navigating Their Living Arrangements (Exclusive)"

From Reality TV to Real Life: How Grant Ellis and Juliana Pasquarosa Are Building Their Future Together, One Step at a Time

Warning: this story contains spoilers from the season 29 finale of The Bachelor.

Grant Ellis and Juliana Pasquarosa celebrated their engagement during the March 24 finale of The Bachelor, yet the couple is in no rush to head down the aisle.

“I think that we are taking it one day at a time,” said Grant, 31, in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE alongside his fiancée Juliana, 28. “Right now, we are learning each other and we're falling more in love with each other every day.”

The romantic proposal came after Grant introduced both Juliana and runner-up Litia Garr to his family. While he expressed his love to both women, Grant ultimately felt a deeper bond with Juliana.

"I truly believe that you're somebody who is my best friend, and I'm so grateful for our journey, and when you're going through the toughest times in your life, I want you to know that you don't have to go through it alone, that I'll be there for you, as your man, as your friend, as your partner," Grant declared before popping the question, "Will you marry me?"

Although the couple has their sights set on marriage, they are taking their time before making any wedding plans. Juliana believes there’s "no rush" and prefers to savor their relationship before organizing the big day.

“I just feel like we want to live life together for a minute,” she said. “A wedding is a big thing, and there's so many people we have to meet. I want them all to have an opportunity to see [Grant], see us, and just have it make sense to everybody.”

Grant agreed, adding that when the time comes, their wedding will be a lively celebration. "We’re going to live it up. There's going to be wine, there's going to be family, and it's going to be a celebration of life. When the time is right, we're going to handle it and we're going to talk about it, and we're going to have a really fun wedding," he said, with Juliana expressing her hopes for an Italian wedding.

In the meantime, the couple is focused on their next chapter together. Grant is preparing to relocate to Boston to be closer to Juliana. Having grown up in Newark, New Jersey, and later moving to Texas, Grant is excited to return to the East Coast.

“I love the dynamic that her town has and that her family has, and I want to be close to that,” he shared. “I'm going to have my house in Houston, but I'm also going to come over there and we're going to make it work.”

Juliana is enthusiastic about their future cohabitation, noting that they plan to explore apartments together once her work routine stabilizes. “We’ll take a peek at some apartments and see what our vibe is like and where we want to be,” she said.

The couple is also looking forward to enjoying life outside the spotlight of the reality show. Juliana eagerly anticipates introducing Grant to her favorite local spot, Olivia's Bistro, for a meal of mushroom tagliatelle and red wine. Grant, meanwhile, is most excited about the simple moments with Juliana.

“Dinners or just dancing in the kitchen, cooking together or just seeing her family or mine — those are the things that I really look forward to," he said.

Family connections remain a priority for the couple, who ensured their families bonded quickly after the show's filming wrapped.

“They've talked over the phone, over FaceTime,” said Juliana. “We kind of did that right away when we got home because we wanted them to feel connected too.”

Grant added that his and Juliana’s fathers instantly connected over their shared experience in the car business. "I feel like her dad and my dad really clicked. Obviously that's something that's not super deep, but it's a thing that bonded."

One last test remains: introducing their pets. Grant recently welcomed a new puppy, while Juliana’s dog Charlie is known for being selective about new friends.

“My dog is not really a big dog person, or people person, so that'll be interesting. Charlie’s opinion matters the most,” Juliana joked.

Despite any potential pet drama, both Grant and Juliana are confident in their relationship.

“I feel so seen and heard and valued when I'm talking to you or around you, and I think those are the types of qualities that are so important in a relationship, and especially in a marriage,” Juliana shared.

Grant echoed her sentiments, praising Juliana’s compassion and character. “I have no doubt in my mind that she's an amazing person, that she's going to make an amazing wife, and I'm excited. I think we understand each other to our core.”
